Fake News From Haaretz Increases Chilul Hashem

Yesterday, various LGBTQ groups marched against Yeshiva University, arguing that the school and its administration need to be more welcoming and open to LGBTQ students and gay concerns and interests. Included in the demands were “a statement from President Berman condemning homophobia on campus, approval of LGBTQ-related events on campus, the creation of a Gay-Straight Alliance Club at YU, the appointment of an administrator to ensure LGBTQ equality and an orientation session about inclusion and tolerance”. Haaretz wrote that the protest was attended by “hundreds of Yeshiva University students with rainbow flags and stars of David”, whereas in truth, fewer than 100 people attended (please enlarge the photo and see for yourself), and a large number of them were not YU students and have nothing to do with YU – such as the Reform LGBT Congregation Beth Simchat Torah, along with Mike Moskowitz, as well as Eshel and Jewish Queer Youth (JQY). As was to be expected, the media and groups with which it allies spun and inflated this event, which is not really newsworthy, into a major news piece, in accordance with their agenda. What else is new?…
