    CJV advocates forthrightly for the maintenance of the USA as a free, moral republic under the Constitution, even when Jews and Torah observance as such are not under direct attack. Some other Jewish organizations and some Jewish legislators are much more narrowly focused.

    Now that new faces control the Administration in DC, there is a temptation to flatter them by ostentatiously saying or doing questionable things to curry their favor. Jews, especially Torah adherents, should resist that urge.

    We walk a fine line because so many Jewish causes rely heavily on the government’s goodwill and the taxpayers’ money government passes along. Dependency on an increasingly hostile government should not be allowed to distort our words or actions. No government aid, however enticing, comes without strings attached.

    Well, yes, she was calling out the people who *do* indoctrinate the youth, associating them (correctly) with such past types as Hitler. They of course resented this, and either deliberately or subconsciously chose to ignore the point and change the subject.
