damage to antiquities could have been avoided if O/haredim agreed to adding a 3rd section to the classic kotel— mixed services, non-O ritual [like shabbat musical instruments etc] . that was never going to happen. this is the best compromise —in the sense that all sides lose something — obtainable….
Adding a 3rd section to the kotel would have done EVEN MORE damage to antiquity. ..Jewish antiquity.
