    I had a conversation in 1971 or 1972 with an Italian from the Bronx, who said that, by not taking a stand, the Jews had allowed themselves to be driven wholesale out of their Bronx neighborhoods, whereas the Italians did take a stand and stayed. Sometimes, we Jews do things not in our best interest, to avoid being labeled as racists. Possibly, the “peace process” with Palestinian Arabs has been an example of this.
